DO YOU HAVE A REGISTERED THERAPY DOG? CALL US!
A LOCAL FACILITY IN GLOUCESTER NEEDS YOU!
Preserving the special bond between elders and their pets helps support the health and well being of elders trying to remain independent in the community. By offering information and referral regarding pet-related issues to elders and their families, we hope to provide them a way to continue to enjoy the companionship of animals.

We are not a shelter or rescue, so we are not equipped to take animals that need new homes. We do provide information about, and referral to, shelters, rescue groups, pet sitters, trainers, boarding kennels and other pet professionals. We make every effort to solve problems that may lead an elder to consider relinquishing a pet, and many times we have been able to help seniors keep their pets in their homes. A very generous donor has made it possible for us to begin to help with some situations that require financial assistance, such as veterinary, or other services, that might not otherwise be available to low income individuals or seniors who may be experiencing a temporary setback. Your donations are appreciated, and will help us continue this effort.
We have provided volunteer therapy dog visits; pre-purchase or pre-pet adoption counseling; dog bite prevention training; elder/pet workshops for health care providers and social workers; and even individualized training or behavioral advice. We are happy to provide a speaker, with or without a registered therapy dog, to your group.
Chances are that if it relates to pets and senior citizens, we can help you find the information you need!
